About LogicKernel
A Denwick-based advisory practice focused on retail expansion planning and honest branch performance review.
Why we exist
Too many opening plans begin with an empty unit and a hopeful sales forecast. We started LogicKernel Business Consulting to reverse that order: begin with the catchment, the lease burden, and the capacity of the existing estate to absorb another launch.
Origin
The practice grew out of regional retail operations work across the North East and Yorkshire — years spent opening concessions, renegotiating secondary high-street leases, and closing stores that never recovered their rent. Clients asked for the same judgement outside a single banner, so the advisory work became the full-time craft.
How we work
We prefer fewer, deeper engagements. A typical week might include walking a market town before the Saturday peak, sitting with a store manager through a quiet Tuesday, and rewriting a board paper so the risk of a proposed fifth site is stated in plain numbers. We stay close to the trading floor; desk models without a visit rarely survive first contact with a real high street.
People
Engagements are led by consultants who have held P&L responsibility for multi-site retail, not by generalist strategy writers. When a project needs a specialist surveyor or local planner introduction, we say so and keep that relationship transparent — we do not pad invoices with unexplained third parties.
Values we hold to
- Say the awkward thing early. If a cherished town fails the catchment test, you hear it in week one, not in a polite appendix.
- Respect the people who already run the stores. Branch teams often know the quiet hours better than head office; we listen before we write.
- Keep recommendations tied to capital. Advice that ignores cash, fit-out lead times, or landlord timelines is decoration.
United Kingdom focus
Our office is at 60 Whitby Road in Denwick. Most field work sits within England and southern Scotland, with travel arranged for wider estates when the opening programme justifies it.
