Lease renewals arrive in clusters. Finance wants certainty; local managers want continuity; landlords want uplift. A branch performance review ahead of that cluster gives you a shared language for which stores deserve investment, which need a remodel condition in the renewal, and which should be released.

An honest exit is not a failure of nerve. It is often the only way to free management attention and stock budget for branches that can still grow. The review should name that option early enough for notice periods and staff conversations to be handled with care — something one client reminded us matters as much as the spreadsheet.
